PADI Dive Course Description

This course teaches you self rescue techniques and those that can help another diver in an emergency situation. This challenging course enables divers to use direct intervention to prevent or assist other divers and to solve problems before they become emergencies.


Normally over 3 days, including 1/2 day for the optional, but required EFR First Aid course


Example Schedule

Day 1:

  • 08:00 Sign in and EFR Theory
  • 10:00 EFR skills practice
  • 12:00 Lunch served at our dive centre's restaurant
  • 14:00 PADI Rescue Diver Skills Session in confined water
  • 16:00 PADI Rescue Diver Theory self-study

Day 2:

  • 08:30 PADI Rescue Diver Skills in open water
  • 12:00 Lunch served at our dive centre's restaurant
  • 13:00 PADI Rescue Diver Theory and Final Exam
  • 16:00 End of the day's program

Day 3:

  • 08:30 Dives 1 and 2 with PADI Rescue Diver Emergency scenarios
  • 12:00 Lunch served at our dive centre's restaurant
  • 13:00 Congratulations: you are now a PADI Rescue certified diver!


  • All theory and classroom time
  • Skills training in shallow water
  • Skills training in open water
  • 2 open water scuba dives in Padang Bai from a boat
  • All PADI materials and certification fees
  • Tuition by a professional, renewed and insured PADI Instructor
  • Max 4 students per PADI professional during in-water activities (compared to 8 to 1 allowed by PADI)
  • Full set of scuba diving equipment, including fins, boots, wetsuit, bcd, regulator, dive computer, mask, snorkel, weights and tanks during each day of diving
  • Transport from the dive centre to the dive sites
